Xbox One/PS4/PC Shooter Warframe Adding Mythological Chinese Variant

Free-to-play shooter Warframe is adding a new Warframe very soon. The Wukong Warframe will launch starting tomorrow, November 25, for PC, with a release scheduled for "soon" onXbox One and PlayStation 4, developer Digital Extremes has announced. Ahead of its release, we have some details about what players can expect from it along with information on an upcoming double XP weekend event and sale.

The Wukong Warframe is inspired by the Chinese mythological figure Sun Wukong, who is also known as the Monkey King in the classic 16th century text, Journey to the West.

"Wukong is a primal warrior with the heart of a trickster," reads a line from its official description. "With his iconic Iron Staff, Wukong can turn the tide of battle, taking down swaths of enemies with his Iron Jab and Primal Fury skills. Wukong's strength is matched only by his cunning, allowing him to cheat death with Defy and to disappear from the battlefield in a cloud of mist with his Cloud Walker ability."

Some of Wukong's abilities include:

• Iron Jab: Explode the Iron Staff to its true length, knowing down anything in its path.
• Defy: Escape death by receiving a boost of health when killed.
• Cloud Walker: Evaporate into a cloud of mist and float through the battlefield.
• Primal Fury: Summon the Iron Staff and unleash fury.

Starting November 25, Warframe players will be able to craft the Wukong Warframe for free using in-game resources just as they can for all other Warframe releases. It'll also be available to buy from Warframe's store.

Alongside the new Wukong Warframe, Digital Extremes has also announced a new limited-time in-game promotion. From November 25-30 (the Thanksgiving break for some), players on all platforms will receive double XP, as well as discounts on marketplace content. The deals are outlined below.
