Messi’s moment of individual brilliance in the Champions League semi-final first leg against Bayern Munich in May - where he left Jerome Boateng on his backside before delicately lifting the ball over Manuel Neuer - sent Twitter into meltdown, it has been confirmed.
According to the Daily Mail, Messi’s outstanding goal generated a record 25,300 tweets-per-minute - 7,700 more than the number of tweets-per-minute garnered on the final whistle of Arsenal’s FA Cup quarter-final victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford (second on the list of top 10 moments).
