Game Rant Open Discussion: November 28th

With Thanksgiving behind us, it’s time to focus on the looming Black Friday weekend, which consists of numerous sales, fighting patrons, and a whole lot of leftovers. The weekend also means it’s time for another Game Rant Open Discussion, your chance to chime in any topic that has caught your fancy.

Black Friday Weekend Sales

This weekend was a big one for both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One; the two current-gen consoles are vying for major sales by way of some enticing price cuts. At $299 for either the PS4 or Xbox One, it’s going to be hard to resist picking up a new console, especially for those still on the fence.
And for those who have already invested in the current generation of platforms, there are plenty of worthwhile deals to consider as well. Microsoft has a ton of games on sale through their digital store, and many of their retail discs carry decent discounts as well. Conversely, Sony’s PSN Flash sale includes lots of worthwhile offers, from triple-A releases to prized indies. Needless to say, gamers are going to be spending a lot of money through to Cyber Monday.

Fallout 4 Mods & Stories

Fallout 4 Captain Zao
Fallout 4 has proven to be a near-endless source for entertainment these past few weeks, delivering everything from power fantasy battle royales between Legendary monsters to a send-up of the online manga One-Punch Man. Truthfully, Bethesda’s latest release has dominated the conversation since launch, and is showing no sign of slowing down.
In fact, the mod scene only appears to be gaining momemtum, as more players finish the main story and start poking around in the universe. We’d highly recommend digging through all ofFallout 4, because there are some really compelling side stories sprinkled throughout the game.

Rainbow Six: Siege Beta Struggles

Ubisoft Releases New Rainbow Six Siege Trailer
It’s been a string of “interesting” news for Rainbow Six: Siege fans over the last week, who were intrigued by the opportunity to participate in an open beta for the game, but were curious as to why it was releasing so late. Developer Ubisoft assured gamers that the finished game would not be delayed again and that it would be stable, but many had their doubts.
Unfortunately, Ubisoft couldn’t help reassure those concerns, as they announced an indefinite delay to the Rainbow Six: Siege beta, mere hours before it was supposed to go live. Eventually the beta was able to launch, but it has not been without problems, including server disconnects and extreme lag for some. With so little time until between now and when the game launches, it’s hard not to be concerned.
